Rabi Lamichhane, the president of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, has been arrested. He was detained after the Kaski District Court issued an arrest warrant against him for investigation in connection with a cooperative fraud case.
The bench of Judge Krishna Jung Shah of the Kaski District Court granted permission to arrest Lamichhane on Friday.
The Kaski District Police Office had requested an arrest warrant for the investigation of Lamichhane, which was then issued by the court.
The Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee had concluded that Lamichhane, who was also the former Managing Director of Gorkha Media, misappropriated cooperative funds in collaboration with Gitendra Babu Rai(GB Rai)
